A Note about Membership Level Change
When you change your membership level from "single" to "family" or the reverse, the system will charge you the full amount for the new membership level. We on the membership committee think that's ridiculous, but we can't change the system. We can, however, do things manually for you, so email membership@aarclub.com for help.
Here a few example senarios:
Change from single to family on January 12, 2015
Using the system: Before the change: Single membership renewal date was March 15, 2015 After the change: You are invoiced for $30 for your family membership and your renewal date is STILL March 15, 2015. |
---|
Contacting membership@aarclub.com Before the change: Single membership renewal date was March 15, 2015. After the change: You are invoiced for $30 for your family membership and membership committee manually bumps your renewal date to March 15, 2016. (happiness ensues!) |
Change from single to family on April 17, 2016
Using the system: Before the change: You just paid $25 to renew your single membership on March 15, 2016. Renewal date is March 15, 2017. After the change: You are invoiced $30 for your family membership and your renewal date is STILL March 15, 2017 (yes, it charges you twice for the same membership fun) |

Contacting membership@aarclub.com Before the change: You just paid $25 to renew your single membership on March 15, 2016. Renewal date is March 15, 2017. After the change: If you started the online process, membership deletes your invoice. Membership then manually creates a $5 invoice for you and changes your membership level to family. (happiness ensues!) |
